Ready to celebrate another Thanksgiving with family!

November 21, 2011

Every year I look forward to being around my family and loved ones for Thanksgiving because there is always so much to be thankful for. Thursday will be my cheat day and pretty much anything goes on that day but what matters is that you get back on track. It’s ok every now and then to allow yourself a cheat meal here and there as long as you are on track 90% of the time you can still achieve great results. Start Monday November 24th and join me in the 24 day challenge. This could be a great opportunity to burn off the Thanksgiving meals and be at 10-14 pounds lighter by Christmas. Typically most people gain during the holidays but why not get away from the norm and lose the weight! Here is a link for more information and feel free to email me if there are any questions. I’d give you any advice and tips for free if you sign up for the 24 day challenge. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

My current training routine.

September 7, 2011

Here is a sample  of my current routine. I usually am either training with a 4 day split routine or a 5 day split. Here is my current split using a 5 day split.

Monday: Back and abs

Tuesday: Chest and calves

Wednesday: 30-45 minutes of cardio

Thursday: Legs and abs

Friday: Shoulders and calves

Saturday: Arms and abs

Sunday: 30-45 minutes of cardio

For larger muscle groups such as back and chest I typically perform 3 to 4 exercises for 3 to 4 worksets of reps ranging from 6 to 12. For smaller muscle groups such as arms I perform 2 to 3 exercies for 3 worksets within reps of 6 to 12.

(I will usually add cardio typically 20-30 minutes after my weight training session or first thing in the morning when adding more cardio sessions than previously mentioned.)

Getting back on track and overcoming obstacles in life.

August 26, 2011

It’s been a long time since my last post and it’s been a rough start to 2011 losing my mom in March. This was definitely the hardest thing I had ever been through in my life by far.  I had to take some time off and allow myself to refocus.  On the flip side I married my beautiful wife Sarah in June and this has been a true blessing.  Mom I love you and miss you very much and want you to know that you will always be forever in my heart. Now time to get back on track both physically and mentally and make mom proud!

Looking forward to a photo shoot in Austin for Iron Disciples clothing

February 20, 2010

Wel it’s about 4 weeks away for my photo shoot in Austin and I’m looking forward to it. My good friend Israel is starting this clothing line and so far the shirts look and fit realy nice! This photo shoot will be more indoor gym shots sporting his tank top and t shirt. I am doing my cardio in the morning and going back in the afternoon to weight train. Weekends can be tough sometimes when you have friends calling you wanting to hang out but I’ve chosen instead to stay in and make sure I get my sleep and avoid any junk food or drinks that may hinder my results. As Bill Phillips once said “Half of getting what you want is knowing what you must give up to get it.”

Ready for 2010!

December 22, 2009

I am so looking forward to a great year in 2010. I was in Albuquerque visiting my brother this weekend and looking forward to seeing my parents in Levelland, TX for Christmas. It’s always very special to me to be around my family. This time of the year it can be hard to squeeze in the workouts because there is always so much to do but you can count on me hitting it hard come first of January. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2010!

Gorgeous day in December this Saturday!

December 12, 2009

Today I started the day by training legs at Gold’s gym with Squats, stiff legged deadlifts, leg curls, leg extensions, standing calf raises, and seated calf raises. What a great way to start the day in this gorgeous day outside in West Texas. I’m looking forward to the holidays coming up being able to see my family as I’m sure all of you guys are as well. Happy training!

Back to the grind after Thanksgiving!

December 1, 2009

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with your family. Today I got back to the gym and had a great pump training chest and biceps. Speaking of pump check out this video of Arnold training. This video and song definitely pump me up to train!

Happy Thanksgiving to All!

November 25, 2009

I just want to wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving tomorrow. I will travel to a small West Texas town known as Levelland to see my parents, sisters, and nephews. Unfortunately my brother will stay in Albuquerque because he will have to work so he will be missed along with my other nephew. Today I plan on getting one more workout for the week training Back and calves. For those traveling be safe and enjoy time off with your family!
